OPERATION "BACK TO SCHOOL"
14th EDITION
From March 29 to April 30, 2010
Encouraging high school students to stay in school
Young people and business people: Why not join them?
Operation “Back to School” is the annual organization of more than 250 testimonial-meetings between business people and groups of Secondary 3, 4, and 5 students in both French and English schools in Greater Montréal's public and private systems – as well as in organizations working to lower the school drop-out rate.
This project, of particular importance to the Board of Trade, aims to encourage young people to stay in school and earn their high school diplomas. One of the best ways to influence and motivate young people is to provide them with role models - experienced individuals who address them in a warm, energizing, interactive environment.
These one-hour sessions, focused on the academic, professional, and personal experiences of business people, have proven to be extremely enriching for young people. Each year, hundreds of business people register for this program, and their numbers continue to grow.
