Instead of just tallying up your training expenses (1%), why not adopt better practices to develop your staff’s skills, while at the same time benefiting from fiscal and administrative relief.
Indeed, obtaining the Certificate attesting to the quality of training initiatives (CQIF) means that your contribution to skill development will no longer be based on your training expenses, but rather on the implementation of a skill development process:
- relating to your business objectives;
- in cooperation with your work force.
Thanks to the CQIF, you will be exempt from:
- accounting and annually declaring your training expenses (1%) to the Minister of Revenue of Québec in accordance with the Act to promote workforce skills development and recognition (loi sur les compétences/1% Law);
- keeping documentation supporting the fact that you have conformed to the 1% Law;
- having to undergo checks by the Minister of Revenue of Québec concerning eligible training expenses;
- having to send in the form to be completed by employers to the Commission des partenaires du marché du travail.
