Notice of appointment:
Isabelle Hudon appointed president and CEO
of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal

Montreal, February 16, 2005 – Mr. Claude Michaud, chairman of the board of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Isabelle Hudon as the organization's president and CEO in the place of Mr. Benoit Labonté, who stepped down from his position on February 4. This appointment takes effect today, following the unanimous decision of the Board of Trade's board of directors.

Ms. Hudon has worked for the Board of Trade since January 2002. She first served as communications director, then vice-president, Strategies and communications, and, until recently, executive vice-president. She also served as interim president and CEO since the announcement of Mr. Labonté's departure.

“A member of the Board of Trade's senior management team since joining this organization in January 2002, Ms. Hudon has distinguished herself through her impressive sense of leadership, her excellent operational abilities, and her finely honed strategic skills. For the Board of Trade's board of directors, she was thus the ideal candidate to assume these important responsibilities,” declared Michaud.

Ms. Hudon has worked in the field of public affairs, communications, and strategic positioning for more than sixteen years. She has developed solid expertise in the areas of company reorganization, strategic counseling, communications, crisis management, and government relations, in both the public and private sectors.

Known for her visionary qualities, her strategic sense, and her managerial know-how, Ms. Hudon has thus become the official spokesperson for the largest private organization in Quebec devoted to economic development. In addition, she is responsible for the planning, administration, coordination, and follow-up of all of the organization's operations.

“There is no doubt in my mind that if the Board of Trade is now able to contribute fully to the social, cultural, environmental, and economic development of metropolitan Montreal, it is because it has been able to keep pace with its constantly evolving environment and remain relevant to its members, credible to the public, and influential among decision-makers. The appointment of a person of the caliber of Ms. Hudon as head of this organization is excellent news, since she is the living embodiment of the boldness and vitality that has characterized the Board of Trade in recent years,” concluded Michaud.

Ms. Hudon sits on the following boards of directors: Aéroports de Montréal, Conseil des relations interculturelles du Québec, Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal Foundation, Fondation de l'Hôpital Rivière-des-Prairies, Fonds Ville-Marie, and The New Montreal FilmFest .

The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal has some 7,000 members. Its primary mission is to represent the interests of the business community of Greater Montreal and to provide individuals, merchants and businesses of all sizes with a variety of specialized services to help them achieve their full potential in terms of innovation, productivity and competitiveness. The Board of Trade is Quebec 's leading private economic development organization.
