The Adresse symphonique:
A prestigious showcase worthy of our cultural metropolis
Montréal, May 28, 2009 The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal gives a standing ovation to the official launch of construction of the Adresse symphonique.
A key component of Montréal's new Quartier des spectacles, the MSO's new home is a project that has long been awaited. The official launch of construction is thus excellent news. This construction project will give added impetus to the facelift being given to this downtown sector. Over the long term, the MSO will have a concert hall to brilliantly showcase the talents of its musicians. And, over the short term, our economy will immediately start reaping the benefits of this major project, declared Michel Leblanc, President and CEO of the Board of Trade.
During the current economic slowdown, it is vital that planned investments are quickly translated into concrete initiatives. From this perspective, the groundbreaking of the Adresse symphonique will not only make a significant contribution to Montréal's cultural life down the road, but is also highly beneficial to the economies of both the city and the province right now, continued Leblanc.
The project now taking shape is extremely inspiring. Montréal will gain a prestigious showcase, worthy of the talents of its musicians and our aspirations as a cultural metropolis. We look forward to the great pleasure of seeing Maestro Nagano conduct his first concert in that venue, concluded Leblanc.
